(or „What do we do with your data?”)

Comments

When submitting a comment, in addition to the information provided in the comment form, the commenter’s IP address and browser identification string are collected for the purpose of filtering out unwanted content.

An anonymized character string (commonly referred to as a hash), generated from the email address, is transmitted to the Gravatar service if it is in use on this site. The terms of the Gravatar service can be viewed at the following address: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After the comment is approved, the content of the comment and our profile picture will be publicly displayed.

Media

If an image is uploaded to the website by a registered user, any EXIF data containing GPS location information must be avoided. Visitors to the website can download and extract location data from images on the website.

Cookies

When leaving a comment on the website, the provided name, email, and website address are stored in cookies. This storage serves convenience purposes so that these field data do not have to be filled in again for the next comment. The expiration period of cookies is one year.

If we visit the login page, temporary cookies are set to determine whether the browser accepts cookies. These cookies do not contain personal information and are deleted when the browser is closed.

Upon logging into the website, several cookies are created to save login information and display options for the editing interface. Login cookies are valid for two days, and the cookie storing editing screen options is valid for one year. If the „Remember Me” option is selected, the login persists for two weeks. Upon logging out, login cookies are removed.

When editing a post or page, another cookie is stored by our browser. This cookie does not contain personal data; it simply stores the ID of the post we edited. Its validity expires after one day.

Embedded content from other websites

Posts available on the website may use embedded content from external sources (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from external sources behaves exactly as if we had visited another website.

These websites may collect data about visitors, use cookies, or employ third-party tracking codes to monitor user behavior related to embedded content if we have a user account and are logged in to the site.

Who we share your data with

If a password reset is requested, the IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we retain your data

If we leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is to recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically, preventing them from being placed in the moderation queue.

For registered users on the website (if any), personal data provided in their user profile is also stored. Every user can view, edit, or delete their personal data at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also view and edit this information.

What rights you have over your data

For accounts registered on the website or when making a comment, you can request the export of your personal data in a file, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include data we are obligated to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where your data goes

Comments submitted by visitors may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
